- Insert the tail and, if necessary, lightly lubricate it with compatible hydraulic oil.
- Alignment
- Ensure the fitting’s stop point is in contact with the ferrule.
- For elbow fittings, verify that the angle and orientation are correct.

- Select the appropriate dies for the crimping operation.
- Place the hose end between the crimping press dies, ensuring the entire length of the ferrule is properly inserted.
- Crimp the assembly to the value indicated in the crimping chart.

- Use a go/no-go gauge to check the internal diameter of the tail.
- Ensure the measurements comply with the collapse values specified in the crimping tables.
